Let's look at Jetta's last decade from Mike's POV.

Mike’s Early Days

Mike Tucker accepted a job with Jetta and moved to Edmond, Oklahoma in 2015. His first day on the job happened to be his 30th wedding anniversary, and it was Jetta’s first national sales meeting with new CEO Sarah Fields. Mike and Sarah first worked together in 2000, at a different company. Familiarity with her business practices and integrity attracted Mike into an entirely new industry.

In the early days, Mike began each client meeting confessing, “I don’t know anything about the plumbing industry.”

Time and again he was met with kindness, sharing of rich insights, and specific requests for what was needed from Jetta. Mike simply did what was asked, and to his amazement, customers gave him all the credit!

Relationships

Now, conversations often start with a customer asking Mike, “Is Jetta profitable doing business with us?” because distributors are invested in the health of our company.

Some have even asked Jetta to work directly with their customers. Mike is honored by such an incredibly high level of trust and does not take it for granted. He is grateful for the friendships created through Jetta that will continue far into retirement.

Reflection

The most notable milestone Mike has witnessed in his time at Jetta has been reducing our average lead time to 8.5 working days. In Mike’s early days, a system bathtub was promised in FOUR weeks! A decade of dramatically improving our service at every touchpoint has been a game changer.

Looking Ahead

When asked where Jetta will be in five years, Mike says the company will grow exponentially. “Our distributors are growing, we’re gaining market share, and the support of our ownership group is unmatched. I believe Jetta will attain ambitious goals.”

He predicts change for the product lines and size of the company but knows the core values that guide Jetta will remain consistent.

On the personal side, Mike plans to invest in his family. He wants to spend time camping, hiking, and exploring with his wife, Sandy. He will intentionally become a better husband and an involved grandfather to eight grandchildren. He looks forward to volunteering at the grandkids’ school and driving them all over town in his beloved Jeep.

Mike will be deeply missed by his colleagues and customers who are all friends. We are grateful for the last 10 years with him.
